Upon completing this Certified Piping and Mechanical Quality Control (QC) Inspector course successfully, participants will be able to:
• Gain a thorough understanding of process piping code related to design & fabrication
• Identify different types of piping assembly, AS raised neck flange, socket weld, threaded and seal welds including required weld sizes
• Select proper class flanged fittings for different service conditions such as corrosive, erosive, high-temperature service, and hydro as well as pneumatic test requirements
• Gather knowledge of control valves including globe, slide, swing check, butterfly, and the maintenance and inspection requirements
• Obtain a thorough understanding of filler metals, welding electrodes, welding variables, and essential and nonessential variables
• Learn about post-weld heat treatment, preheating, and various heat treatments on ferrous materials
